Bruno Fernandes an ‘injury doubt’ for Manchester United vs Liverpool

Manchester United look to have been dealt some concerning personnel news ahead of their upcoming outing.

Manchester United are set to face off with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon in what will be the marquee Premier League tie of the weekend.

The Red Devils head into the game on a pretty poor run of form. Man United did pick up a 3-2 win over Atalanta in the Champions League, but they would go 2-0 down first and even though they won, it was clear United had no tactical plan on the day.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have failed to win their last three league outings – drawing one and losing two.

This has seen the Manchester outfit slip down to 6^th in the Premier League and five points off top spot.

And it is hard to see United being able to end their winless league run this weekend either, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. must face off with bitter rivals Liverpool.

The Reds are the only side unbeaten in both the Premier League and Champions League this term and should prove a tough test for United.

As a result, Solskjaer is of course going to be keen to play as strong a squad as possible on Sunday.

However, as mentioned above, it does appear as though Manchester United have been dealt a personnel blow ahead of their game with Liverpool.

Bruno Fernandes has been an integral part of United’s side since his move from Sporting in January of 2020.

But, according to the Sun:

BRUNO FERNANDES is a shock injury doubt for Manchester United’s game against Liverpool.

They add that Fernandes was on the end of some strong challenges vs Atalanta in midweek and after he went into Carrington for warm down training, the extent of the midfielder’s exertions had ‘clearly caught up with’ him and Fernandes was said to be limping heavily.
