Right-back Tomiyasu, who can also play at center-back, has spent the previous two seasons at Bologna, where he appeared 64 times for the Emiliano-Romagna outfit. As per the report, Arsenal have been keeping an eye on the Japan international, who came fourth at the Olympic games with his country, all summer.
Tomiyasu replaces Bellerin
It is thought that Tomiyasu will join as the first-choice right-back for the Gunners, and will replace the outgoing Hector Bellerin, who has joined Real Betis on loan for the season. He will compete with Cedric, Callum Chambers and Ainsley Maitland-Niles for the right-back spot.

It will provide Arteta with three of his own signings in the Arsenal backline, with Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale having also joined the club. With all first-choice defenders younger than 25 years old, it is hoped that they will grow together to help return Arsenal to the Champions League places.
Will he be enough to help Arsenal back into Europe?
