A series of updates on the work of Premier League giants Arsenal on the transfer front have been forthcoming on Monday evening.
Turkey bound?
The first surrounds a potential outgoing at the Emirates ahead of tomorrow night’s transfer deadline.
The player involved? Mohamed Elneny.
Egyptian midfielder Elneny is of course one of only four recognised senior central midfielders in Mikel Arteta’s squad as things stand, alongside Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and summer arrival Sambi Lokonga.
In turn, unless the Gunners are eyeing a late window splash, it would come as something of a surprise to see the 29-year-old moved on.
But, if the latest word doing the rounds in the media this evening is anything to go by, then a transfer cannot be definitively ruled out.
As per reliable Arsenal source The AFC Bell, an unnamed Turkish suitor (Fenerbahce are ruled out) has today emerged for Elneny’s signature.
Arteta and co., in turn, have made clear that they will not stand in the way of a permanent departure coming to fruition for the North African over the next 24 hours, if an offer deemed as ‘acceptable’ is forthcoming.

Spurs preferred
Next up on the Arsenal transfer front comes an insight into the situation of Emerson Royal.
Speculation surrounding the future of Barcelona man Emerson has ramped up in a major way on Monday, amid mounting interest in the Brazilian’s services.
Tottenham have been the outfit most hotly tipped as a potential landing spot, with some sources having even gone as far as to point towards an imminent deal:
Tottenham and Barcelona have reached an agreement for Emerson Royal on a permanent move for €30m add ons included. ⚪️🤝 #THFC #FCB
Emerson has accepted Spurs as next club – still details pending on personal terms to complete the deal. Talks ongoing.

Time to look away, Arsenal fans…
Fresh on the back of word surfacing surrounding Emerson’s nearing Spurs switch, meanwhile, has been confirmation that Mikel Arteta and co. actually rivalled their North London neighbours for the full-back.
Emerson himself, however, opted for a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
Arsenal wanted to sign Emerson Royal from Barcelona. Player wants to join Spurs

Pedri overlooked?
And last up when it comes to Gunners updates on Monday evening comes an even more harrowing story.
The info comes courtesy of the reliable Matt Law of The Telegraph, who has revealed that, before his move to Barcelona was finalised, Arsenal were actually afforded the chance to land Pedri.
Spanish midfielder Pedri has of course gone on to establish himself as one of world football’s most highly-regarded young talents over the last 12 months, on the back of a stellar debut campaign at the Camp Nou, and subsequent showing at the European Championships.
The hierarchy on the red half of North London, however, evidently thought him not worthy of a punt whilst still at Las Palmas back in 2019…
Just been told that Arsenal passed up the chance to sign Pedri from Las Palmas a couple of years ago. Oh well, no biggie…
