Dani Carvajal extends his contract
Long-term club servant Dani Carvajal has tied his future to Real Madrid until 2025. The right-back, now 29 years old, is a world class option when fit, but has often been hampered by injuries of late.

Since his debut in 2013/14, Carvajal has amassed 294 appearances for Los Blancos, but appeared just fifteen times across all competitions last season.
Nevertheless, the extension to his current deal will see the full-back remain in the Spanish capital until 2025, when Carvajal will be 33 years old. It is unlikely to see him as the first-choice option for Real Madrid by that time, but his experience and quality will be crucial to the squad and dressing room.
Benzema next in line
Following the extension to Carvajal’s contract, Karim Benzema is set to sign a new deal in the coming “weeks or months”, as per reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The French striker, who netted 30 goals and assisted a further nine in all competitions last season, is out of contract next summer. However, the proposed new deal will grant him a 12-month extension, keeping Benzema at the Bernabeu until 2023, when he will be 35 years old.
Benzema has stepped up in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, and is likely to continue to carry Madrid in the coming season.
Odegaard price named
Elsewhere, Los Blancos are trying desperately to raise funds for an attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe, and have already let Raphael Varane leave for Manchester United. Next out of the door could well be Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard, with Arsenal thought to be interested in a move for the man that spent the second half of last season at the Emirates stadium.

For his part, Odegaard is allegedly coming around to the idea of spending his career away from Madrid, and now Football.London’s Arsenal correspondent Chris Wheatley has suggested that any potential deal would net Real Madrid around 35 million pounds (41 million euros).
Would this move be the best option for all parties?
