Burnley vs West Ham
West Ham’s hopes of securing European football for next season took a blow last weekend, when they were dealt a 1-0 defeat by Chelsea.
The result means that the Blues have now opened up a three-point advantage over the Hammers, who remain in 5th place.
Liverpool are also only a point adrift of West Ham, with Tottenham not far behind.
Therefore, David Moyes and co. really need to get back to winning ways this weekend vs Burnley.
The tie should prove a fairly straightforward one, though, especially when taking into account the fact that the Clarets are now almost guaranteed Premier league survival.
West Ham team news
West Ham, though, have had a number of injury issues to deal with of late.
In turn, during his pre-Burnley press conference on Friday, David Moyes provided an update on his squad.
And, in something of a boost for the Hammers, Moyes did not rule out the return of Michail Antonio:
“Michail Antonio working with the physios and doing a bit on the grass so I wouldn’t rule him out yet but I wouldn’t rule him in either. Let’s hope he has a chance.”
Aaron Cresswell and Declan Rice, on the other hand, look set to miss out once again:
“We’ve got Aaron Cresswell, Declan Rice, Arthur, Micky Antonio out.
“Daws was suspended last week so we’ve had a few out and we’re working hard to get them all back. We’ve been pretty consistent with our team selection throughout the season because of the injury situation but part of a manager’s job is finding a way to win when you’re without some of your players.”
